Robert Lee Ward, Sr.

Robert Lee Ward, Sr., died Monday, July 3, 2017 at Delmar Gardens Nursing Home in Chesterfield, Missouri. He was born in Henderson, Tennessee on March 30, 1921 to the late John Lonzo and Florence Moore Ward.

He was a retired mechanic and of the Baptist faith.

He was united in marriage to Charity Mary Chappell on December 6, 1941. She preceded him in death on October 29. 2002.

He is survived by 12 sons and eight daughters-in-law: John Ward of St. Louis, MO, Robert Lee (Louise) Ward and Philemon (Wilma) Ward of Black Jack, MO, Frank B (Felicia) Ward of Manchester, MO, Leo (Hattie) Ward of Belleville, IL, Lonnie Ward of Sikeston, MO, Joe Milton Ward and Ashley Ward of Oran, MO, Ervin (Gail) Ward of Cape Girardeau, MO, Winfred (Margarite) Ward of Sikeston, MO, Louis (Jennifer) Ward of Berkley, MO, and Stephen (Naomi) Ward of Dellwood, MO, one daughter and son-in-law, Sheila and Lawrence Gillette of St. Charles, MO, one brother, Walter Ward of Akron, OH, 34 grandchildren, 57 great grandchildren.

Friends may call Saturday, July 8, 2017 at Christ Sanctuary Church of God in Christ in Bell City from 10:00 A.M. until the funeral time of 12:00 noon with Minister Philemon Ward officiating.

Interment will follow in the J. C. Pullen Memorial Garden Cemetery in Bell City.
