Almeta Lee Sloan, 78. resident of Clarksville, Tennessee, formerly of Charleston, Missouri died Thursday, August 3, 2017 peacefully in her home. She was born July 5, 1939 in Steele, Missouri to the late Hernando and Odessie Sanders Rowe.
Almeta was kind, generous, and caring. She was hardworking and very strong willed. She was family oriented, loved her children, and was admired by all.
She was a former secretary of Mount Hope Baptist Church in Charleston, Missouri before becoming a member of Faith Outreach Church in Clarksville, Tennessee. Her faith was important to her.
She is survived by one son and one daughter-in-law, Ronald and Mary Sloan of Cape Girardeau, Missouri, two daughters and two sons-in-law, Tracy and Kevin Carter, Sr. of Indianapolis, Indiana and Michelle and Anthony Walters of Clarksville, Tennessee, one brother, Tommie (Geneva) Rowe of Jefferson City, Missouri, and two sisters, Carrie (Lloyd) Wade of St. Louis, Missouri and Ruth (John) Hart of Charleston, Missouri, 6 grandchildren, 4 great grandchildren, nephews, nieces, cousins, other relatives and friends.
A celebration of life service will be held Saturday, August 12, 2017 at 1:00 pm at House of Prayer World Outreach Center in Charleston, Missouri with her son, Reverend Ronald Sloan officiating. Interment will follow in Oak Grove Cemetery.
