Oddie Alexander Long, Jr., 66, resident of Charleston died, Sunday, November 12, 2017 at the Missouri Delta Medical Center in Sikeston. He was born February 4, 1951 in Henson, Missouri to the late Oddie and Maggie Conners Long, Sr.
He was graduate of Charleston High School class of 1969.
He enlisted in the United States Army where he served from 1971 to 1973 receiving an honorable discharge.

Oddie then relocated to Flint, Michigan where he found gainful employment with General Motors for a number of years.
On August 5, 1991 he was united in marriage to Linda Faye Brunson who survives.
In addition to his wife he is survived by two sons; Steve (Sarah) Betts of Kansas City, Missouri and Bernard Jackson of Flint, Michigan, four daughters, Christine (Gregory) Leach of Poplar Bluff, Missouri, and Regina (Tyrone) Long Harrison, Crystal Long and Tiffany (James ) Polk of Houston, Texas, one brother, William (June) Long of Flint, Michigan, one sister, Barbara (Arnell) Borum of Munford, Tennessee, 15 grandchildren, 8 great grandchildren and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends.
Friends may call Saturday November 18, 2017 from 2:00 P. M. until the funeral hour of 3:00 P. M. at House of Prayer Outreach Ministries in Charleston, Missouri.
Interment will follow in the Oak Grove Cemetery near Charleston with full military rites. The Williams Funeral Home of Charleston in charge of arrangements.
