Edward Lewis Price, affectionately known as "Goo", 59, resident of Cairo, Illinois, died Saturday, December 23, 2017 at St. Francis Medical Center in Cape Girardeau, Missouri. He was born on June 6, 1958 in Cairo, Illinois to the late James Price and Dorothy Hunt Price of Cairo, Illinois.

Edward accepted Christ at an early age. He was a confirmed member as of 2014 of the Episcopal Church of the Redeemer.

Edward received his formal education and graduated from Cairo High School.

After graduation, he was drafted into the United States Army, where he served from 1976-1979. While he was enlisted, he received the good conduct medal, expert Badge M-16 rifle, marksman badge hand grenade and the air assault badge, Edward was honorably discharged.

He held several laborer positions over the years, and also held a supervisor position at a shopping mall in Monterrey Bay, California.

Edward married his high school sweetheart, Donna Kay, on May 16, 2011, and together they have five children and eight grandchildren.

Edward was preceded in death by his father, James L. Price, his daughter, Alexandria Nicole Price, his grandson, Jermell Woods, and two brothers, James L. Price and Bobby L. Price.

On Saturday, December 23, 2017, Edward was called to a better place while at St. Francis Medical Center in Cape Girardeau, Missouri at the age of 59 years, six months and 17 days.

Edward was a hardworking man who loved his family. He was a good man who will be truly missed.

Edward leaves to cherish his precious memories, his loving wife, Donna Kay Price of Cairo, Illinois, his mother, Dorothy Price Greenlee of Cairo, Illinois, two sons and one daughter-in-law, Edward D. (Shannon) Harris of Owensboro, Kentucky and Anthony G, Harris of Cairo, Illinois, two daughters, Damika Nicole Price of Atlanta, Georgia and Shantel Marie Harris of Cairo, Illinois, one son-in-law, William Lundy of Killeen, Texas, three brothers, Robert L. (Sue) Price and Charles L. Price of Cairo, Illinois and Tommy L. Price of Seattle, Washington, five brothers-in law, Ronnie (Deloris) Harris and Edward Harris of Cairo, Illinois, Leonard (Dana) Harris of Urbandale, Illinois, Dale (Tina) Harris of Owensboro, Kentucky, and Michael and Cheryle Baldwin of Peoria, Illinois, two sisters-in- law, Joyce Harris of Tamms, Illinois and Linda Harris of Cairo, Illinois, grandchildren, De'Kharius N. Price, Edward D. Harris, Jr. Elijah D. Harris, Alexzandria G. Harris, Jaziah Harris, Todd Lee, Jr. and Elaiyjhia Harris, two special friends, Glen Hopkins and Anthony Grey, and host of cousins, nephews, nieces, other relatives and friends.

Friends may call Friday, December 29, 2017 from 10:00 A. M. until the funeral hour of 11:15 A. M. at Church of the Redeemer in Cairo, Illinois with the pastor, Reverend James K. Muriuki officiating. Interment will follow in the National Cemetery in Mounds, Illinois with full military rites. The Williams Funeral of Charleston, Missouri is in charge of arrangements.
