Edward Lee Williams, 81, resident of East Prairie, Missouri, died Thursday, July 12, 2018 at his home surrounded by family. He was born November 26, 1936 in Blaine, Mississippi to the late Earl and Gladys Canady Williams.
Edward had a personal relationship with the Lord, and he believed in God.
Edward started farming at the age of 17 and was employed by Steve Jones Farms of East Prairie, Missouri until his retirement. His family often spoke of his retirement as being a new chapter in his life, because he did not retire, he just was unable to farm anymore.
Edward was united in marriage to Easter Dunigan on June 7, 1957, and they shared 61 years of bliss happiness.
He was a well-loved man, who could fix anything and make anything. Edward soon became known as a farmer and a mechanic. He loved fishing, hunting, and hanging with friends. Edward would help anyone and would never say no. He did all he could to help those around him.
In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by one brother, Johnnie H. Williams, and three sisters, Christine Mayo, Valerie Williams, and Rosemont Williams.
Edward is survived by his wife, Easter Williams of East Prairie, Missouri, three sons and daughters-in-law, Eddie Terrall (Angela) Williams of Pacific, Missouri, Rodney Neal (Lisa) Williams, Sr. of Horn Lake, Mississippi and Tycee Marice (Samantha) Williams of Eureka, Missouri, three brothers, DeWayne Williams of Sikeston, Missouri, Earl (Peggy) Williams, Jr. of Kansas City, Missouri, and Eugene Williams of Las Vegas, Nevada, five sisters, Francis Bolton and Gertrude Armstrong of Kansas City, Missouri, Tammy Williams of St. Louis, Missouri and Cynthia Williams and Earline Williams of Sikeston, Missouri, seven grandchildren, one great grandchild, and a host of nephews, nieces, cousins, other relatives and friends.
Friends may call Friday, July 20, 2018 from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM at Mercy Seat Missionary Baptist Church in Charleston, Missouri where the funeral services are scheduled for Saturday, July 21, 2018 at 1:00 PM with Reverend Phillip Stone officiating. Interment will follow in the Oak Grove Cemetery near Charleston, Missouri.
