Joe Reed, 68, resident of Sikeston, Missouri died September 6, 2018 at Missouri Delta Medical Center in Sikeston, Missouri. He was born February 20, 1950 in Cairo, Illinois to the late John Reed and Mary McCoy Reed.

Joe loved working and was employed as an over the road truck driver for many years.  He retired from Ready Mix in Marston, Missouri.

He was a member of Good Hope Missionary Baptist Church in Marston, Missouri.

Joe enjoyed fishing, scrapping and junking metal, gambling, throwing dice and playing cards. He loved reading his bible and would eagerly quote scriptures.

In addition to his parents, he is also preceded in death by his brother, Curtis Reed, his sister, Hattie Mae Jones, and his daughter, Alicia Faye Reed.

He is survived by five sons and one daughter-in-law, Brandon (Lacey) Reed of Centralia, Illinois, Brian Reed of Howardville, Missouri, James Williams of Minneapolis, Minnesota, David Reed of Cape Girardeau, Missouri, and Bobby Joe Reed of Mount Vernon, Illinois, five daughters and two sons-in-law, Leslie Reed of Howardville, Missouri, Tabitha (Jeffrey) Lee of Sikeston, Missouri, Shirlene Treadwell of Columbia, Missouri, Sherry (Jerry) Pettis of Cape Girardeau, Missouri and Angela Sims of Jonesboro, Arkansas, one sister, Selia Mae Chandler of Detroit, Michigan, 25 grandchildren, 12 great grandchildren, and a host of nephews, nieces, other relatives and friends.

A memorial service will be held Saturday, September 15, 2018 at 12:00 noon at the Williams Funeral Chapel in Howardville, Missouri.
