Adria Sheree Brewer, affectionately known by her friends as Dria, 33, a resident of Cape Girardeau, MO, passed away on May 31, 2021 at Barnes Jewish Hospital in St. Louis, MO, with her mother by her side. She was born on July 26, 1987 in Sikeston, MO to Amanda Brewer of Cape Girardeau, MO and Leland Brown of Kansas City, MO.

Adria was baptized at the early age of 10 under the leadership of James Ratliff at St. Matthews Baptist Church.

She graduated from Central High School in 2006, and from Southeast Missouri State University in 2015. She worked at Southeast Hospital from 2015-2018 as a switchboard operator.

Adria was full of life, intelligent, humorous, strong-willed and determined. She was compassionate, she loved God, and had a strong presence. She always encouraged others to live their best lives. She never complained despite her condition.

Her hobbies were traveling when her health allowed, cooking, reading, eating out and trying different foods, spending time with her mother and her cousin “Goo”, and playing video games. She loved going to music concerts and watching the first 48 hours with her mom and watching dramas with “Goo”. Adria was also planning to publish a book, of which she was very proud.

She was preceded in death by her grandmother, Betty Brewer, great grandmother Arlee Wade, great grandfather Lloyd Wade Jr., Uncle Joe Anderson, great, great, great grandmother Fannie Gillespie , and her pet cat Tigra, who passed away shortly before our Adria did.

Adria leaves to cherish her memories: her mother, Amanda Brewer of Cape Girardeau, MO, her father Leland Brown of Kansas City, MO, her grandparents, Walter and Ella Brewer of Charleston MO, her great grandmother, Elsie Betts of Orange County, California, her grandmother, Annie Brown of Kansas City, MO, her cousin/caregiver/sister Gabrielle Brewer who she referred to as “Goo” of Cape Girardeau, MO, William Atkinson and Christian Atkinson of St. Louis, MO, Janice Atkinson, Diedre Ward, Maxine and Justine Betts and a host of aunts, uncles, and cousins which include her Wade family and Betts family and friends.
