Albert Williams, Jr.

August 7, 1941 — November 16, 2024

Albert Williams Jr. was born August 7, 1941 in Itta Bena, Mississippi to Iola Brookshire and Albert Williams. In addition to his mom, he was preceded in death by his sisters, Bertha Willis and Ella Harris, his daughter, Kim Cross, and his granddaughters, Candice Burnett, Jerriah Jordan, and Lil Goldie Cross.

He accepted Christ at an early age. He served on the deacon board for years. On the morning of his death, he was on a prayer call with his family. What a beautiful way to praise his way into glory.

He was united in holy matrimony to Jewel Mays Williams for 48 years. They were together for 59 years total. To this union, one daughter, Celeste, was born.

He moved to St. Louis, MO in 1967. He worked at Ryerson Steel Company, where he retired. He enjoyed playing cards and watching football and baseball. He loved talking smack to everyone.

He leaves to cherish his precious memories his loving wife, Jewel Williams of the home, his daughters, Celeste Staples (Frank), Regina Mays, Valerie Mays-Burnett, Terry Mays, Mildred “Lynette” Mays-McClendon (Stanley), Jackie Garrett, and Pattrisha Moore, one brother, Pleas Porter, three sisters, Lu Alice Lyons, Doll Mains (Roosevelt), and Alzine Winters (Arthur), 12 grandchildren, 21 great grandchildren, and a host of nephews, nieces, cousins, other relatives, and friends.

Friends may call Saturday, November 30, 2024 at 11:00 A.M. until the funeral hour of 12:00 noon at Opportunity Church of God in Christ in Charleston, Missouri. Interment will immediately follow in Oak Grove Cemetery in Charleston with the Williams Funeral Homes in charge of arrangements.
