Alice Ruth Adams

Alice Ruth Adams, 74, resident of Sikeston, Missouri, died Wednesday, May 29, 2019 at St. Francis Medical Center in Cape Girardeau, Missouri.  She was born January 5, 1945 in Kemper County, Mississippi to the late Walter  and Clara Little Adams.

She was a graduate of Gray Ridge School in Bell City, Missouri.  She was employed at International Shoe Company in Sikeston, Missouri  and later by the Hat Factory in Oran, Missouri.

Alice was a member of St. John Missionary Baptist Church in Sikeston, Missouri where she served on the Mother's Board.

She loved to witness to people about the goodness of God and listening to gospel music and different evangelists on her television.   She also loved shopping,  spending time with her family, and cooking holiday feasts.

In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by four great grandchildren.

She is survived by seven sons and three daughters-in-law, Melvin Jones, David Adams, Ronnie Adams, Derrick Adams and Elder Mark (Karen)  Jones of Sikeston, Missouri, Robert (Edna) Adams and  Percy (Karen) Adams of Marion, Indiana, six daughters and five sons-in-law, Marlyin Jones, Beverly (Kem) Peet, Sherry (Earl) Brown and Tracy (Dwayne) Booker of Sikeston, Missouri, Clara (Anthony) Price of Jefferson City, Missouri and Stacy (Ronald) Woodson of Colorado Springs, Colorado, one brother, Tommy Adams of Chicago, Illinois, three sisters, Mattie Richard of Chicago, Illinois, Helen (Austin) Godbolt of Rocky Mountain, Missouri and Alma Adams of Sikeston, Missouri, two grandsons that she raised as her own, Joshua (Angie) Jones of Peoria, Illinois and Johnny Adams of Sikeston, Missouri, 64 grandchildren, 88 great grandchildren, and a host of nephews, nieces, cousins, other relatives and friends.`

Visitation will  be held on Friday, June 7, 2019  from 6:00 - 8:00 P. M. at St. John Missionary Baptist Church in Sikeston, Missouri.  Funeral Services will be on Saturday, June 8, 2019 at 1:00 pm at Green Memorial Church of God in Christ in Sikeston, Missouri with Elder Mark Jones officiating.  Interment will follow in Garden of Memories Cemetery in Sikeston, Missouri with the Williams Funeral Homes of Sikeston in charge of arrangements.
