Alma Lue Brown

Alma Lue Brown, 65, resident of New Madrid, Missouri died December 20, 2019 in Cape Girardeau, Missouri.  She was born September 29, 1954 in Arcola, Mississippi to the late Sylvester Davis and the late Dora Lee Mitchell Gibbs.

She helped Mrs. Judy at Blankenship Farms, and over the years they formed a very special friendship.  She retired from Tyson Foods in Dexter, Missouri 12 years ago.

Alma attended church and had a personal relationship with God.

She was a good-hearted person who loved cooking. Alma was a very good cook and would feed anyone who was hungry.  She also enjoyed fishing, watching "The Young and the Restless", gardening and working in her yard.

If you were in a crowd and heard someone say, "Tell the truth and shame the devil!"  You would turn and look for Alma, because that was one of her favorite sayings.  She will be long remembered for her truth and for her good caring heart.  Her presence will be missed by many. She was a fun-loving, generous soul.

In addition to her parents, she is also preceded in death by one daughter, Rochella Denise Davis, two brothers, Jesse Davis and Robert Taylor and four sisters, Mary Kitchens, Castella Davis, Dora Gibbs and Louretha Bradberry.

Alma is survived by four sons, Shepel (Shavon) Davis of Columbia, Missouri, Michael (Sharon) Brown of Howardville, Missouri, Timothy (Cynthia) Davis of Sikeston, Missouri, and  Jerry Davis of New Madrid, Missouri,  three brothers, Sylvester (Elnora) Davis and William Davis of Greenville, Mississippi and  John (Janice) Davis of Chicago, Illinois, one sister, Virgie Davis of Mt. Vernon, New York, a former sister-in-law, Lois Davis of Greenville, Mississippi, 18 grandchildren and a host of nephews, nieces, cousins, other relatives and friends.

Friends may call Saturday, December 28, 2019 from 11:00 A. M. until the funeral hour of 12:00  noon at  Life Changers Restoration Ministries in Lilbourn, Missouri with Pastor Earl Grissom officiating.

Interment will follow in the Evergreen Cemetery in New Madrid, Missouri with the Williams Funeral Home of Howardville, Missouri in charge of arrangements.
