Arthur Corbitt

November 9, 1955 — September 18, 2023

Arthur Corbitt, a loving and carefree gentle man touched the lives of all people who knew him. He was born in Charleston Missouri on November 9, 1955, to Bennie “Red” and Louise Corbitt. Arthur lived in St Louis, Missouri for many years and later relocated to Indianapolis, Indiana. He gave his life to Christ at an early age and regularly attended services at True Vine Missionary Baptist Church.

After receiving his diploma from Charleston High School, he was employed in various occupations.  He ultimately enjoyed working at Picasso Construction where he rehabilitated and improved houses.

Arthur, commonly known as Uncle, enjoyed living life to the fullest.  He had a sly smile that would melt hearts and he loved to use it to flirt with the ladies.  He enjoyed conversing with people, traveling, fishing, and playing pool.  He was a loyal and committed son, brother, father, grandfather, uncle, nephew, and friend.

On Monday, September 18, 2023, at the age of 67, Arthur departed this earthly life. He was preceded in death by his parents, Bennie and Louise Corbitt, three sisters, Ollie Richmond, Marva “Pooley” Jean, and Edith “Tina” Corbitt, and four brothers, Paul Johnson, Stevie Easton, Rodney Easton, and Bennie Corbitt, Jr.

Although Arthur’s journey on this earth has come to an end, he will be treasured and remembered throughout the lives of his family, friends, and community members. He leaves to cherish his loving memories a daughter, Patricia Anderson, four sons, Damon Williams, Lennie Williams, Dominic Williams and Wendall Williams, six brothers, Willie Easton of Chicago, Illinois, Gary (Susie) Easton, Richard Easton, and Timothy Easton of Charleston, Missouri, Curtis Easton of Farmington, Missouri, and Ceascle Beasley of Sikeston, Missouri, seven sisters, Faye (Donald) Jones of Dayton, Ohio, Eldorado Hodges of Suffolk, Virginia, Candrice Parker of Bertrand, Missouri, Barbara Pierce of Chicago, Illinois, Veronica Dunigan of Charleston, Missouri, Beulah Beasley of Dyersburg, Tennessee, and Patricia Biles of Poplar Buff, Missouri, grandchildren, great grandchildren, a special niece, Donnetta Jones of Indianapolis, Indiana, and a host of nephews, nieces, cousins, other relatives, and friends.

A visiting hour will be held at 10:30 A.M. with a memorial service beginning at 11:00 A.M on Saturday, October 14, 2023 at the Williams Funeral Chapel in Charleston, Missouri. Interment will immediately follow in Oak Grove Cemetery in Charleston.
