Bennie Joe Cooper, 68, died Monday, August 15, 2022 at his home in Centralia, Illinois. He was born December 1, 1953 in Dale, Arkansas to the late Wash Cooper and Ida Mae Winters Cooper.
Bennie had a strong relationship with God. His fondest memories were fellowshipping at New Hope Missionary Baptist Church in Pinhook, Missouri.
He spent many years working for a golf cart company where they packed and shipped golf carts all over the country.
In his free time, he loved to hunt and fish, and he enjoyed his family.
He is survived by one son, Bennie Joe Cooper, Jr. of Auburn, New York, two daughters, Nena (James) Wilkins of Matthews, Missouri and Kalyn Cooper of Auburn, New York, four brothers, Jessie (Lavern) Cooper of Lilbourn, Missouri, Walter Cooper of Sikeston, Missouri, Wash (Emily) Cooper, Jr. of Arlington, Tennessee and Larry Cooper of Memphis, Tennessee, four sisters, Dora (Joe) Brown and Geraldine (Bobby) Bigham of Charleston, Missouri, Lula Bankhead of Memphis, Tennessee, and Oca Cooper of Kalamazoo, Michigan, four granddaughters, three great grandchildren, the Smith family, nephews, nieces, great nephews, great nieces, other relatives and friends.
Friends may call Saturday, August 20, 2022 at 12:00 noon until the funeral hour of 1:00 P.M. at the Williams Funeral Chapel in Charleston, Missouri with Pastor Floyd Wade officiating. Interment will follow in Oak Grove Cemetery in Charleston with the Williams Funeral Home in charge of arrangements.
