Bernice Williams Ray, affectionately known as Pretty Baby, 75, resident of Sikeston, Missouri died Wednesday, November 11, 2020 at St. Francis Medical Center in Cape Girardeau, Missouri. She was born July 28, 1945 in Morley, Missouri to the late Willie and Sadie Williams.
She accepted Christ at an early age and was of the Baptist belief.
She was united in marriage to Chester Ray who preceded her in death.
Bernice worked at the Sikeston Headstart as a Grandmother for several years until her health began to fail.
In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by three brothers, two sisters, and one grandchild.
She leaves to cherish her precious memories, her daughter, Brenda (Gary) Gross of Sikeston, Missouri, two brothers, Willie "Bull" Glispie and William "Little Horn" Williams, both of Sikeston, Missouri, four grandchildren, Latrisha (Chris) Burkman of Bloomfield, Missouri, Terrika Williams, Adrian "Ed" Williams and Brandon Williams of Sikeston, Missouri, two adopted daughters, Rhonda Hopkins of New Madrid, Missouri and Rita Savage of Sikeston, Missouri, and a host of nieces, nephews, and children who called her Grandmother, 12 great grandchildren, three great great grandchildren.
Friends may call Saturday, November 21, 2020 from 12:00 noon until the funeral hour of 1:00 P.M. at Green Memorial Church of God in Christ with Pastor Samuel Gibson of Ollie Grove Missionary Baptist Church officiating. Interment will follow in Sikeston Memorial Park with the Williams Funeral Home of Sikeston in charge of arrangements.
