Bertha Mae Nelson, 84, resident of Parma, Missouri, died Tuesday, June 29, 2021 at Southeast Health Center of Stoddard County in Dexter, Missouri. She was born June 14, 1937 in Catron, Missouri to the late Frank Dawkins and Inora Littleton (John) Nelson.
She attended school in Catron, Missouri and was a member of House of Prayer in Parma, Missouri for over 25 years.
In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by one sister Ola Mae "Toosie" Nelson, three brothers, Willie Johnson, John "Cracker" Nelson, Jr., Alfred Crum, two grandsons, Denzel Rice and Antonio Johnson, and one granddaughter, Silven Rice.
She leaves to cherish her memories two daughters, Victoria (Rosco) Johnson of Houston, Texas, and Che-waun (Norman) Steward of Parma, Missouri, four sons, Nathaniel JR Rice of Springfield, Missouri, Lee Othis (Mary) Rice of England, Arkansas, Robert Lee (Joyce) Rice of Little Rock, Arkansas, and Samuel Rice, one sister, Sandra (Willie) Patton, five grandsons who she helped raise, Martennis, Brian, Joshua, Matthews-Nelson, and Karahzza Rice, 25 grandchildren, 15 great grandchildren, and a host of nephews, nieces, cousins, other relatives, and friends.
Friends may call Saturday, July 10, 2021 at 12:00 noon until the funeral hour of 1:00 P.M. at the Parma Community Building in Parma, Missouri with Elder Floyd Wade officiating.
