Bobby Gene Johnson, 75, resident of Charleston, Missouri died April 23, 2020 in his home surrounded by his loving family. He was born August 14, 1944 in Dorena, Missouri to the late James Lawdell Johnson and Rosie Lee Meachum Johnson.
Bobby accepted Christ as his personal Saviour and attended church whenever he could.
On August 26, 1970, he was united in marriage to Mae Jewell Branigan who survives of the home. They spent the next 49 years building a wonderful life together.
Bobby was a very hard worker and took pride in providing for his family. He enjoyed farming for many years.
In his free time, he worked in his yard. He would do that everyday if the weather and time allowed. He loved gardening, farming, and spending quality time with his family.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by three brothers, James Odell Johnson, Joe Terry Johnson and Charlie Lee Johnson, three sisters, Lou Vel Johnson, Jessie Faye Wade and Georgia Mae Johnson, and a son-in-law, Mozel Dunnigan.
Bobby is survived by his devoted wife, Mae Jewell Johnson of the home, two sons, Melvin (Armedrest) Branigan of Paducah, Kentucky and Ricky (Elvira) Branigan of Columbus, Georgia, three daughters, Patty (Willie) Clemons, Carolyn Dunnigan, and Sandra (Everick) Emanuel all of Charleston, Missouri, one sister, Juanita Yvonne Johnson of South Bend, Indiana, one sister-in-law, Hazel Virginia Stevenson Johnson of Aurora, Colorado, ten grandchildren, 18 great grandchildren, and a host of nephews, nieces, other relatives and friends.
A memorial service will be held at a later date.
