Bobby Lee Johnson, Jr., was a sharp dresser who knew how to put a smile on your face with a joke or funny story. He kept people rolling in laughter because he could find humor in many of life’s circumstances.
Bobby graduated from Charleston High School with the class of 1975. He continued his education at Southeast Missouri State University in Cape Girardeau, Missouri. Bobby was an outstanding basketball player, a sport he loved so much. Bobby later in life continued his education and obtained a certification in Paralegal studies. On September 30, 2022, Bobby transitioned at the age of 66.
Bobby, affectionately known as Bobbo, was the son of Bobby Lee Johnson, Sr., and Jean Ann Patton Randle. He was born on August 16, 1956, in Steele, Missouri. In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his loving grandmother Clementine Johnson, longtime companion Vera Alexander Shaw, six brothers, Ernest Lee Johnson, Danny Patton, Albert Patton, Micheal Robinson, Anthony Robinson, and Willie George Robinson, and two sisters, Beverly Jean Johnson and Doris Howard.
He leaves to cherish fond memories to: daughter, Sharon Clark of Lawrenceville, GA, one son, Brandel Johnson, Sr. of Chicago Heights, Illinois and bonus daughter, Ayanna Davis of Chicago Heights, Illinois; 11 sisters, Ruthie Ann Patton and Rose Marie Lawson of Columbia, MO ; Susie Brown of Miami, Florida, Barbara Ann Walker of Tallahassee, Florida, Wyvonna Robinson of Tacoma, Washington, Gracie Rogers of Oklahoma City, Oklahoma, Sheronda Nelson of Jacksonville, Florida, Danielle Scott-Owens of Cape Girardeau, and Margaret Ann Jackson, Angie Gillespie, and Linda Johnson all of Charleston; 8 brothers, Dallas Robinson, Robert Robinson, Edward Robinson of Union City, Tennessee, Demont Scott of Cape Girardeau, Douglas Robinson of St. Louis, Billy Joe Robinson of Kalamazoo, Michigan, Roger Robinson and Dwight Robinson, both of Charleston; 6 grandchildren Jerren Clark, Jazmyne Clark, Andre Hill, Jr, Brandal Johnson Jr., Briel Turner, Phyre Azana Muhammad, and one great-grandchild Koa Rios-Clark, and many other relatives and many friends.
Friends may call Saturday, October 22, 2022 from 12:00 noon until the memorial hour of 1:00 P.M. at St. Matthews Full Gospel Missionary Baptist Church in Charleston, Missouri with Pastor Floyd Wade officiating. Interment will follow in Oak Grove Cemetery with the Williams Funeral Home of Charleston in charge of arrangements.
