Bobby Lee Epps

Bobby Lee Epps, affectionately known as “The Rock”, 76, resident of Charleston, Missouri, died Friday, May 19, 2023 at St. Francis Medical Center in Cape Girardeau, Missouri. He was born January 27, 1947 in Charleston to the late Harrison and Emma Small Epps.

He was a member of the Masonic Lodge.

Bobby loved fishing, hunting, and cooking in his spare time. He could also be found gardening, as he enjoyed growing his own food. He would eat any and everything.  He was an avid traveler. Bobby was happiest when riding trains and seeing the world. His loved ones will miss hearing his famous sayings, “I don’t know and I don’t give a damn”, and “Man you don’t know nothing”.

In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by one brother, Louis Macklin, and two sisters, Dorothy Jefferson and Queen Esther Thomas.

He leaves to cherish his precious memories his wife, Emma Jean Isabell Epps of San Diego, California, three sons, Robert Anthony Epps of Elgin, Illinois, Troy (Melissa) Epps of Chula Vista, California, and Randald (LaTrece) Stevenson of St. Paul, Minnesota, three daughters, Charletta Renee (Mark) Anderson of Stafford, Virginia, Erika Epps of Elgin, Illinois, and Letitia Epps of Carrollton, Georgia, four brothers, Joe Epps and James (Rose) Epps both of Indianapolis, Indiana, Charles (Wanda) Epps of Columbia, Missouri, and Willie Epps of Charleston, Missouri, two sisters, Ida (Larry) Ellison of Arlington, Tennessee, and Mildred (Joe) Jones of Brandon, Mississippi, 15 grandchildren, 27 great grandchildren, and a host of nephews, nieces, cousins, other relatives, and friends.

Visitation will be held Monday, May 22, 2023 from 10:30 A.M. until 11:30 A.M. at the Williams Funeral Chapel in Charleston.  Graveside services will begin at 12:00 noon at Oak Grove Cemetery in Charleston, Missouri with Minister Charles Epps officiating. The Williams Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
