Bobby Lee Moore, 60, resident of Sikeston, Missouri, died March 18, 2019 at his home. He was born June 30, 1958 in Charleston, Missouri to the late Bryant Rodgers, Sr. and Hattie Spillers Moore.
He was a graduate of Charleston High School Class of 1976 in Charleston, Missouri.
Bobby was self-employed, as he was a man of many talents, until he became disabled.
He had a big heart, was well respected by the community and would open his home to anyone. He was a good person who was fun to be around partly because he was funny. Bobby loved to gamble, play bingo and at one point, was a ladies' man. He was also a caring grandfather who loved to dance in his wheelchair.
In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by eight brothers, MacArthur Shelby, Joe Shelby, Scott E. Moore, Bryant Rodgers, Jr., Phillip Rodgers, Roy Rodgers, Ray Rodgers, and Eddie Rodgers, and four sisters, Barbara Moore, Olestine Howard, DelMarie Moore and his twin, Rosie Graham.
He is survived by his companion of 24 years, Daisy West of Sikeston, Missouri, two sons, Justin (Renisha) Border and Bobby Lee Howard of Davenport, Iowa, one daughter, Janetta McGowan of Davenport, Iowa, two stepsons, Marqueze Parks and Marqese Parks of Sikeston, Missouri, three stepdaughters, Marquesha Parks and Canzada West of Sikeston, Missouri, and Tylisha Lee of Champaign, Illinois, five brothers, Fred Rodgers and Lenzy Rodgers of Charleston, Missouri, Michael Rodgers of Ypsilanti, Michigan, Sherdell Briggs of Iowa City, Iowa and Tommy Briggs of Davenport, Iowa, seven sisters, Almeta Pearson, Dorothy Bankhead, and Ruth Harrington of Davenport, Iowa, Shirley Murray, Cindy Rodgers, and Amanda Williams of Charleston, and Dianna Gorden of Florissant, Missouri, 20 grandchildren, six great grandchildren and a host of nephews, nieces, cousins, other relatives and friends.
Friends may call Saturday, March 30, 2019 from 11:00 A.M. until the funeral hour of 12:00 noon at Mercy Seat Missionary Baptist Church in Charleston, Missouri with Pastor Arthur Cassell officiating.
Interment will follow in Oak Grove Cemetery with the Williams Funeral Home of Charleston, Missouri in charge of arrangements.
