Carolyn Jean Hamilton West

Carolyn Jean Hamilton West was born August 27, 1951 in Chicago, IL to Annie Mae LaFont Hamilton and Robert Hamilton Sr. She was one of five children.

She graduated from Lilbourn High School, Lilbourn, MO in 1970. Carolyn confessed faith in Christ and joined First Baptist Church, Howardville, MO. Her favorite scripture were Psalm 93, 94 & 95.

She married Leon West and to this union one child was born.

Carolyn affectionately known as “Sweet Carol” enjoyed going to bingo and doing other social activities with family and friends. She had the biggest heart, always offering someone in need a place to live and rest for while. She was kind, selfless and compassionate to all in need.

She was preceded in death by:  Her Maternal and Paternal grandparents; Alf & Hattie Bateman & Willie B & Ophelia Hamilton. Her parents; Annie LaFont-London and Robert Hamilton Sr.  Her son: Brian Hamilton and brother, David Hamilton.

She leaves to cherish her memories her daughter, LaTonya West-Pratcher of Dallas, GA, her siblings, JoAnn Hamilton of Chicago, IL, Robert (Anna) Hamilton of New Madrid, MO, Sharon Hamilton of Chicago, IL,  Gerine Hamilton of Champaign, IL, Gregory (Yolanda) Hamilton of Chicago, IL, Mark Hamilton of Chicago, IL, Veronica Hamilton of Howardville, MO, Verlon (Cynthia) Timms of Kansas City, KS, Renee’ Banks of Howardville, MO, and Dwayne Banks of Marston, MO, two grandchildren, Jamie (Bonnie) Pratcher Jr. of Marietta, GA and Jada Pratcher of Dallas, GA, two aunts, Willa Mae Newsom and Algie Sanders, one uncle, Alf Bateman and a complete family of cousins, nieces, nephews and friends.

A visitation service will be held Saturday, December 3, 2022 from 1:00 P.M. to 3:00 P.M. at the Williams Funeral Chapel in Howardville, Missouri.
