Denise Mellanease Riley

Denise Mellanease Riley, 64, resident of East Prairie, Missouri died Sunday, May 12, 2019 at her home.  She was born February 24, 1955  in Gary, Indiana to the late John Wesley Riley and Marion Elizabeth Thompson Riley.

Denise graduated from Roosevelt High School in Gary, Indiana and Chicago Realty and became a Mortgage Loan Officer.

Denise was baptized in the name of Jesus and accepted into the body of Christ in 2011 at The Israel of God Church and continued to serve in her walk until her death.

Denise was united in marriage to Dexter Dennis, who preceded her in death in 2011.

Loved cooking and barbequing, going to church and being around her family.  Denise lived her life to see others happy and was one of the best grandmothers ever.  She will be greatly missed by all that knew her.

She was one of nine siblings.  Her parents and four sisters, Conelia Riley, Willa Mae Riley, Demetria Perkins and Elizabeth Trimble have preceded her in death.

Survivors include,  a granddaughter with whom she lived with, Ashston Jackson of East Prairie, Missouri, three sons and one daughter-law, TaRay and Agnes Riley of Orlando, Florida, Rondell Pippins of Perryville, Missouri, and  Spencer Riley of  Chicago, Illinois, one daughter and one  son-in-law, Nikishia  and Keith Young of Snellville, Georgia, one brother Marshall Lee of Dothan, Alabama,  seven sisters, Aishah Graffer of Long Beach, California,  Barbara Jenkins of Valrico, Florida, Beverly Riley, and Sonja Riley, of Tampa, Florida, Deborah Norman of Minneapolis, Minnesota, Jacqueline (Frank) Ingram of Charleston, Missouri, and  Pamela Hemphill  of Perryville, Missouri,17 grandchildren, 13 great grandchildren and a host of nephews, nieces, family members and friends.

Friends may call Friday, May 24, 2019 from  11a. m. - 1:00 p. m. at the Williams Funeral Chapel in Charleston, Missouri.  Memorial Service will be held Sunday,  May 26, 2019 from 12:00 p. m.-2:00 p. m. at The Israel of God located at 205 Rogers St., Sikeston, MO 63801
