Doris Jean Dixon

August 19, 1950 — March 2, 2019

Doris  Jean Dixon, 68, resident of Charleston, Missouri died Friday, March 2, 2019 at Missouri Delta Medical Center in Sikeston, Missouri.  She was born August 19, 1950 in Charleston, Missouri to the late Earl and Rosie Lee Allen Farmer.

She attended Charleston Public Schools in Charleston, Missouri and attended Vocational-Technical School for Culinary Art.  She was employed as a chef at The Sands, Chef's Gallery and Ramada Inn.

She was a member of St. Matthews Full Gospel Missionary Baptist Church in Charleston , Missouri under the leadership of Pastor Floyd Wade.

In 1976, Doris was united in marriage to David Dixon of Charleston, Missouri.

Doris was a good person who was loved by everyone that knew her.  She loved fishing, doing crossword puzzles, and cooking.  Doris was a loving wife and mother who worked hard and showed love to everybody.

She is also preceded in death by one sister, Linda Farmer.

In addition to her husband, she is survived by two boys, David (Renetta) Dixon of Greenville, Mississippi, Donald (Linda) Dixon of Charleston, Missouri, five daughters, Glenda (James) Wilson, Victoria Hemphill, Benita Coopwood, Dawanda Dixon and Jetta Dixon of Charleston, Missouri, seven brothers, Earl (Mary) Farmer and Patrick (Yulaunda) Farmer of Charleston, Missouri, Tony Farmer  and Sherman Farmer of St. Paul, Minnesota, Timothy Farmer of Marion, Illinois, Ismail "Randy"  Hakim of  Chicago, Illinois, Danny (Michelle) Farmer of Sikeston, Missouri, and  three sisters, Karen Farmer of Charleston, Missouri, Sherry Dellario of Carbondale, Illinois and Velma (Jonathan) Hill of Marion, Illinois, her step mother, Luberta "Bea" Farmer of  Carbondale, Illinois and a host of grandchildren, great grandchildren, nephews, nieces, cousins, other relatives and friends.

A memorial service will be on Friday, March 8, 2019 at 1:00 P. M. at Williams Funeral Chapel in Charleston, Missouri with Pastor Floyd Wade officiating.
