Doris Jean Gant

Doris Jean Gant, 65, died Friday, November 4, 2022 in Cape Girardeau, Missouri. She was born November 13, 1956 in Charleston, Missouri to the late Sylvester Gant and Annie D. Gardner Hines.

She graduated in 1975 from East Prairie High School in East Prairie, Missouri.

Doris had a personal relationship with God. She attended Bethlehem Missionary Baptist Church in Charleston, Missouri.

After graduating, she relocated to Memphis, Tennessee where she worked as a Personnel Data Clerk for the Internal Revenue Service for many years.

In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her uncles, George Gardner, Sam Gardner, TJ Gardner, James Gardner, and Joe Gant, and her aunts, Lily Foster, Daisy Gardner, and Mattie Green.

She leaves to cherish her precious memories five brothers, Tommy Gant of O’Fallon Illinois, Larry Gardner and Eckkie Hines both of Memphis, Tennessee, and William Hines and Donnell Hines both of Sikeston, Missouri, four sisters, Jeannette Hines of Cape Girardeau, Missouri, Helen Madison of Sikeston, Missouri, Linda Brown of Indianapolis, Indiana, and Carolyn Hines of Pontiac, Michigan, her uncle, Robert, six aunts, Luvera, “B”, Clara, Rosie, Margie, and Lorise, and a host of nephews, nieces, cousins, other relatives, and friends.

Graveside services will be held Saturday, November 12, 2022 at 1:00 P.M. in Oak Grove Cemetery in Charleston, Missouri with Pastor A. Michael Nance officiating. The Williams Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
