Dorothy Mae Coleman, 85, resident of Charleston, Missouri died April 5, 2018 at her home. She was born September 9, 1932 in Clarkston, Missouri to the late Ed Coleman and the late Lillie Mae Harris Coleman.
Dorothy accepted Christ early in life and was a former member of Mercy Seat Missionary Baptist Church in Charleston, Missouri.
She was a well known, loved, and respected woman in the Charleston community and known by many as "Aunt Dorothy". Dorothy loved playing Bingo, listening to her "Down Home Blues" and watching "Matlock" and "In the Heat of the Night."
In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by two brothers, Eddie Coleman and Freddie Coleman, three sisters, Oralee Kirkwood, Magnolia Coleman and Violee Moore, one brother-in-law, Theoda Kirkwood and one grandson, G'Kyreion Oliver.
She is survived by two sons and one daughter-in-law, Bobby (Dorothy) Coleman of Chicago, Illinois, and Larry Coleman of Charleston, Missouri, a granddaughter whom she raised, Chanelle Oliver of Charleston, Missouri, two additional granddaughters, Nicosta McKinley of Hammond, Indiana, and Andrea (Mario) Green of Virginia, one grandson, Gerrell (Tonya) McKinley of South Bend, Indiana, 11 great grand children, nine great great grandchildren, and a host of other relatives and friends.
Friends may call Saturday, April 14, 2018 from 11:00 A. M. until the funeral hour of 12:00 Noon at Mercy Seat Missionary Baptist Church in Charleston, Missouri with Reverend J. L. Posey, officiating. Interment will follow in the Oak Grove Cemetery near Charleston, Missouri with the Williams Funeral Home of Charleston, Missouri in charge of arrangements.
