Dorothy Jean Sinks

Dorothy Jean Sinks, 72, resident of Charleston, Missouri died July 27, 2020 at Landmark Hospital in Cape Girardeau, Missouri.  She was born October 23, 1947 in Wyatt, Missouri to the late James and Myretta Clark Sinks.

She attended Lincoln High School in Charleston, Missouri.

Dorothy worked a variety of jobs including Housekeeper for Mag Lindsey for over 20 years, Charleston Housing Authority and doing childcare in her home. She will be sadly missed.

She loved cooking and was known for her tacos and cupcakes.  She also loved spending time with her family and grandchildren.

In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her daughter, Jackie Sinks, one brother, Otha Lee Sinks, five sisters, Barbara Jean Moore, Ernesthene Woods, Kathryn Sinks, Mildred Sinks and Opah Lee Sinks, a special nephew, Ronnie Lawayne Woods, and a special friend, William “Al” Cravens.

She is survived by one son, William Sinks of Charleston, Missouri, one brother, James Sinks, Jr. of Charleston, Missouri,  a special friend for over 50 years, Ella Mae Moore, three granddaughters she raised after the death of her daughter, Natasha Sinks, Tiffany Clemons and Zorria Suggs, six additional grandchildren, including a special grandson and two special granddaughters, Darwin Craig III and Zahirhia Kent and Sharie Davis, Alonzo  Simpson, Clarissa Simpson and Aaron Hunter, 19 great grandchildren and a host of nephews, nieces, including, Nicole Sinks, Shalonda Chappell, Chatonya Farries and Larneice Moore, cousins, other relatives and friends.

Friends may call Friday,  July 31, 2020  from 12:00 noon until then funeral hour of 1:00 P. M.  at St Matthews Full Gospel Missionary Baptist Church in Charleston,  Missouri with the pastor, Reverend Floyd Wade officiating.  Interment will follow in  the Oak Grove Cemetery near Charleston, Missouri.
