Elliott Lee Turner

January 26, 1960 — March 14, 2024

Elliott Lee Turner was born January 26, 1960 in Bell City, Missouri to Ellis Howard and Lucille Turner. In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his paternal and maternal grandparents, his daughter, Nadia, and two infant siblings, his brother, Eric, and his sister, Freda.

Elliott was a 1979 graduate from Scott County Central High School in Sikeston, Missouri.

He attended St. John Missionary Baptist Church in Sikeston under the leadership of Pastor Richard Lee.

Elliott was a hard and dependable worker throughout his lifetime. He worked for Potashnick Transportation Inc. (PTI) for 13 years, Bill James Excavating for seven years, Arvin Motor for seven years, and Reliable Freights for seven years. He was willing to help whenever and however he could.

In his spare time, Elliott could be found working on cars and trucks, as well as tending to his yard and caring for his dog. These things made him happy and held a special place in his heart. He was a loving, dedicated family man to his children and grandchildren. Spending time with them brought him great joy.

He was the life of the party. Elliott enjoyed telling jokes, dancing, and having a good time.  His sense of humor was unmatched and will be missed by many.

On Thursday, March 14, 2024 while at his home in Sikeston, after battling a chronic illness for four years, Elliott was taken from our midst at the age of 64 years, one month, and 17 days.

He leaves to cherish his precious memories his sons, Elliott Turner, Jr. of Fortworth, Texas and Ellis Turner of Bloomington, Illinois, his daughters, Michele Rhoden and Satori Harris of Sikeston, Missouri, Traci Spencer of Hot Springs, Arkansas, Jalisha (Anthony) Wilder of Kansas City, Missouri, Tondeleya (Travon) Battles of Riverdale, Georgia, and Sarafina Turner of Bloomington, Illinois, six brothers, Ellis Howard of Fort Wayne, Indiana, Milton (Lynn) Howard and Jimmy Shaw both of Marion, Indiana, Alfonso (Sharon) Turner of Jackson, Missouri, Derwin Howard of Kokomo, Indiana, Tommy (Raynette) Turner of Sikeston, Missouri, eight sisters, Annette Jones of Cape Girardeau, Missouri, Ernestine       Alexander, of Chicago, Illinois, Diane (Raymond) Humphrey of Marion, Indiana, Carolyn McCain of Atlanta, Georgia, Debbie Davis and Lavonda Turner Robinson both of Sikeston, Missouri, and Cynthia (Isaiah) McCray and Staffane Turner both of Haywood City, Missouri, 15 grandchildren, a special friend, Nikki Moon, two stepchildren, Kayzien Rucker and Kyle Moon, and a host of uncles, aunts, nephews, nieces, lots of cousins, other relatives and close friends.

A visitation will be held on Saturday, March 23, 2024 at 12:00 noon until the funeral hour of 1:00 P.M. at Cornerstone Baptist Church in Sikeston, Missouri with Pastor Richard Lee of St. John’s Missionary Baptist Church in Sikeston officiating.  The Williams Funeral Homes is in charge of arrangements.
