Estella Jones Sharp

February 2, 1938 — May 11, 2020

Estella Jones Sharp, 82, affectionately known as “Rabbit” , resident of Haywood City, Missouri died May 11, 2020 at the Missouri Delta Medical Center in Sikeston, Missouri.  She was born February 2, 1938 in Shuqualak, Mississippi to the late Harry and Lurean Hardin Jones, Sr.

She confessed hope in Christ at an early age in Bell City, Missouri and was a current member of New Morning Star Missionary Baptist Church in Haywood City, Missouri.

Rabbit moved to Chicago, Illinois and found gainful employment at Shadex in Chicago, Illinois. She relocated back to the area and settled in Haywood City, Missouri.  She was also a certified nurse’s assistant and had worked at many nursing home through the years.

Estella was blessed to be the mother of one son, Frank Edward Henry, who also preceded her in death on March 6, 2019.

She loved dancing and fishing.

In addition to her parents and son, she is preceded in death by three brothers, William Jones, Kenny Jones and Sammy Jones and eleven sisters, Susie Haney, Mary Glover, Caroline Jones, Rosie Lewis, Louise Wiley, Mary Alice Stevens, Inez Hunt, Ruthie Lee Townsend, Esther Jeffery, Alberta Thomas and Mattie Fort.

She is survived by two brothers and sisters-in-law, Willie (Ada) Jones of Cape Girardeau, Missouri and Harry (Marion) Jones of Lavergne, Tennessee, one brother-in-law, James Fort of St.  Louis, Missouri and one sister-in-law, Sarah Jones Woodson of Haywood City, Missouri, a special niece, Rita Savage of Sikeston, Missouri, a very good friend, Cassie Hardin of Decatur, Illinois and a host of other relatives and friends.

A public walk through visitation will held Saturday, May 16, 2020 from 11:00 a. m. to 12:00 noon at New Morning Star Missionary Baptist Church in Haywood City, Missouri, where Reverend Alex Sims is the pastor.  The family will then hold a private viewing from 12:00 noon until time for the interment in the New Morning Star Cemetery in Haywood City with the Williams Funeral Home of Sikeston, Missouri in charge of arrangements.

Because of the Covid-19 pandemics we ask that all attendees honor our social distancing rules and wear a facial mask.
