Eugene Johnson

Eugene Johnson, 58, resident of Sikeston, died July 2, 2018 at Southeast Missouri Hospital in Cape Girardeau, Missouri.  He was born May 17, 1960 in Detroit, Michigan  to the late Kelton Morris and Dorothy Johnson Cox.

He accepted Christ at an early age and was of the Baptist faith.

Eugene was employed for over 25 years as a cook for Ryan's Restaurant and Lambert's Café both located in Sikeston, Missouri.

He was an avid fan of wrestling and enjoyed the company of his friends, but was known as a home body.

Eugene was preceded in death by his parents, three brothers, Calvin Johnson, Norman Cox, Jr., and Donnell Johnson  and one sister, Shielia Brownlee.

He is survived by two brothers, Eric Johnson, and Michael Cox  of Sikeston, Missouri, four sisters and one brother-in-law, Ruth Rushman of Detroit, Michigan, Patricia Cox of Cape Girardeau, Missouri , Michelle Cox and Trina ( Jerry ) Taylor of Sikeston, Missouri,  a special friend, Debra Moore of Sikeston, Missouri, several uncles, aunts, nephews, nieces other relatives and many friends.

Friends may call Saturday, July 7, 2018 from 12:00 noon until the funeral hour of 1:00 P. M. at Free Will Missionary Baptist Church in Sikeston, Missouri with Reverend Roosevelt Weakley officiating.  Interment will follow in Sunset of Memories Cemetery in Sikeston, Missouri with the Williams Funeral Home of Sikeston in charge of arrangements.
