Floyd Wade, affectionately known as Goldie, was born February 5, 1951 in New Madrid, Missouri, the son of Goldie and Elnora Johnson Evans. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by one son, Thomas Glasgow, and one sister.
He was a graduate of Charleston High School where he played basketball.
Goldie loved his music. “Mighty G” was well-known throughout the community for throwing a good party and having a great time.
He was a hard worker who provided for his family. He retired after many years from Noranda Aluminum, Inc. in New Madrid County, Missouri.
Goldie died peacefully Saturday, May 21, 2022 surrounded by his loved ones at Missouri Delta Medical Center in Sikeston, Missouri at the age of 71 years, three months, 16 days.
He leaves to cherish his wife of more than 40 years, Joann Wade of the home, four sons, Antonio Williams of Chicago, Illinois, Theophilus Wade of Las Vegas, Nevada, Byron (B K) Little of Milwaukee, Wisconsin, and Elgin S. Wade of Sikeston, Missouri, five brothers, three sisters, and a host of nephews, nieces, cousins, other relatives and friends.
A memorial service will be held Saturday, May 28, 2022 at 1:00 P.M. at the Williams Funeral Chapel in Charleston, Missouri.
