Freddie Lee Gentry was born into life in West Memphis, Arkansas on August 2, 1945 to John L. Gentry and Ruthie Mae Robinson Gentry. He departed this life on October 6, 2021 at Southgate Rehabilitation and Nursing Facility in Metropolis, Illinois at the age of 76 years, two months, and four days.
Mr. Gentry surrendered his life to Christ in early 2000 under the teachings of the late Pastor Lorenzo Nelson.
Mr. Gentry was a long time resident and employee of Alexander County Housing Authority. He was known to many as "Mr. Fred." All the residents and children of McBride Housing Complex was crazy about Mr. Fred.
He is preceded in death by his mother, Ruthie Mae Robinson, his father, John L. Gentry, three brothers Jessie Hill, Issac Hill, and Joe Hill, one great great niece, Ja'Mariel Lanique Tanksley, and one niece, Mary Hill.
Mr. Gentry leaves to cherish his memories to three sisters, Deborah Johnson and Betty (Robert) Reed of Klondike, Illinois and Sharon Hill of Cape Girardeau Missouri, one brother, Operia Hill of Klondike, Illinois, a nephew Tyrance Hill of Marion, Illinois, a niece, Deborah Hill of Klondike, Illinois and a host of great nieces and nephews, great great nieces and nephews, and a host of friends.
Friends may call Friday, October 15, 2021 from 6:00 P.M. until 8:00 P.M. at the Williams Funeral Chapel in Charleston, Missouri.
