George Williams, Sr.

George Williams Sr., affectionately known as “Boy Baby”, passed away on April 2, 2021 at Missouri Delta Medical Center in Sikeston, Missouri where he resided.  George lived to be 86 years old. He was born on October 13, 1934 in Morgan City, Mississippi to the late Rosena Purnell of Toledo, Ohio and the late George Williams Sr. of Compton, California.  George worked for the East Prairie School District in several different capacities for many years before retiring. His most notable job was driving the school bus and running the Dorena and Pinhook route. George was passionate about raising his pigs, picking up cans and rattling off his old, witty sayings. He was a member of the Union Baptist Church of Pinhook, Missouri. He was married to Mary Louise Williams who preceded him in death; together they raised eleven children.  Memorial services for Mr. Williams will be held on Saturday April 10 ^th , 2021 at FEMA Gymnasium, 304 E Walnut in East Prairie, Missouri. Visitation will be held from 10:00 to 12:00 and Funeral services will begin at noon.  Following the services, dinner will be served to the family at The Copper Still Lounge in Sikeston, MO., 1617 E Malone Ave., Sikeston, Missouri and the funeral proceedings will be held under the direction of Funeral Director, Stephanie Williams Crawford of Williams Funeral Home Inc.
