Gloria Ann Powell Gillespie, 57, resident of Charleston, Missouri died Saturday, May 15, 2021 at St. Francis Medical Center in Cape Girardeau, Missouri.  She was born August 22, 1963 in Charleston, Missouri to the late Walter and Claudia Williams Powell.

In 1981, Gloria graduated from Charleston High School in Charleston, Missouri.

She married  Marvin Gillespie August 31, 1985.  They enjoyed 36 years together.

Gloria was a hard-working woman. She worked at Brown Shoe Company for ten years before they closed. She worked at other facilities, but she ended her career in administration at Missouri Delta Medical Center in Sikeston, Missouri.

Gloria loved her family. She truly enjoyed raising her children and spending time with them. On Sundays, she zoomed with family. She would talk to Eddie for hours. Gloria enjoyed going to St. Louis to visit her brother and other family members. She was very crafty. In her free time, she liked creating wreaths, crocheting, and using her sewing machine to make clothes. Gloria also loved to cook. She will be truly missed.

In addition to her parents, four brothers, Walter Powell, Willie Powell, Dennis Powell and M.C. Powell, three sisters, Johnnie Howard, Christine Clark and Kathleen Powell Robinson, one granddaughter, Dallas Gillespie, and one grandson, Brandon Gillespie, Jr. all preceded her in death.

She leaves to cherish her precious memories, her husband, Marvin Gillespie, her son, Brandon (Jamychel Davis) Gillespie of Charleston, Missouri, her daughter, Claudia Gillespie of Charleston, Missouri, her brother, Eddie Powell of St. Louis, Missouri, her sister, Margaret Powell of Chicago, Illinois, her grandson, Lavell Gillespie who was her pride and joy, and a host of nephews, nieces, cousins, other relatives, and friends

Friends may call Friday, May 21, 2021 from 11:00 noon until 1:00 P.M. at the Williams Funeral Chapel in Charleston, Missouri.  Interment will follow in Oak Grove Cemetery with the Williams Funeral Home of Charleston in charge of arrangements.
