Grady D. Perkins, 62, affectionately known as Fuzzy, resident of Cape Girardeau, Missouri died July 23, 2021 at St. Francis Medical Center in Cape Girardeau, Missouri. He was born February 5, 1959 in La Belle, Missouri to the late David and Lucille Johnson Perkins. He graduated from Lilbourn High School in Lilbourn, Missouri in 1977. While there, he played on the basketball team. Grady was a faithful member of Greater Dimensions Ministries in Cape Girardeau, Missouri. He served as a Minister and a Sunday school superintendent for two years. He was employed by Rhodes 101 in Cape Girardeau, Missouri as a cook. Grady was united in marriage to Marilyn Dobbins. After briefly dating in high-school and going their separate ways in life, they rekindled their relationship in 2014. They married November 14th of the same year. He enjoyed saying, "This is my Queen. While down on his luck, he met Danny Hollowell, the founder of the Amen Center. With the help of the Lord through Danny, Grady was able to turn his life around. He was very vocal about his life's struggles and wasn't shy about telling his testimony to anyone and everyone. Grady continued to fellowship and donate his time to the Amen center and the less fortunate until his untimely death. His down to earth and relatable nature drew people to him, which allowed him to minister to many. He loved ministering and helping others, especially the less fortunate. Reading his bible and sharing the goodness of the Lord truly brought him joy. Some of his favorite sayings were “Everyday the Lord gives me is a good day” and “I’m good like I’m at”. Grady could also be found singing, tending to his plants, watching classic movies and The Young and the Restless. In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his brother, David Wilson. He leaves to cherish his precious memories his wife, Marilyn Dobbins-Perkins, his children, Tawanda Daniel, Terrance (Nicole) Newman, Ch'Del Newman, Christopher Newman, Erich Newman, Daiveon Perkins, Mariah Perkins, De'Khari Perkins, Aah'Nyeya Perkins, Tellis Wilderness, and TaFarris Wilderness, his siblings, Margie Perkins, Louise "Ninnie" Perkins, Doris Jean Perkins, Doris Ann Wilson, David Perkins, Jr., Magnolia Perkins, and Diane Perkins, his uncles, Bobby Johnson and Bill Wheeler, his aunts, Rosie Wheeler, Mary Johnson, Ann Clark, and Pearl Wheeler, his mother-in-law, Florine Maxwell, his grandchildren, Terrance Newman II, Michael Newman, Ch'Rya Newman, Christopher Newman II, Taylor Newman, Jaiden Newman, Emily-Elise Newman, Terrace Newman, Naliyiah Wilderness, Aydien Wilderness, Jayla Wilderness, Sevohn Howard, and Senobia Howard, and a host of nephews, nieces, cousins, other relatives, and friends. Friends may call Saturday, July 31, 2021 at 10:00 A.M. until the funeral hour of 12:00 Noon at Greater Dimensions Ministries in Cape Girardeau, Missouri with Pastor William Bird, Jr. officiating. Interment will follow in Russell Heights Cemetery in Jackson, Missouri with full military honors. The Williams Funeral Home of Charleston is in charge of arrangements.
