Hattie Mae Nelson died Sunday, February 6, 2022 in her home in Charleston, Missouri. She was born September 17, 1948 in Dyersburg, Tennessee to the late T.A. Williams and Elnora Cobbs Ware.
She attended Lincoln School in Charleston, Missouri.
Hattie enjoyed taking care of others and meeting their needs. She found satisfaction in her chosen career of nursing.
Hattie attended Mercy Seat Missionary Baptist Church in Charleston under the leadership of Pastor J.L. Posey.
She loved to be around her family. Hattie could always be found having a good time and saying “is” and “is not.”
In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by one son, Leon Nelson, Jr., four brothers, Gene Williams, T.C. Williams, Frank Ware, Jr., and Taylor Williams, two sisters, Billy Cain and Beatrice Ware, and her beloved ex-husband, Leon Nelson, Sr.
She leaves to cherish her precious memories, three daughters, Deloris Bostic and Linda Johnson of Charleston, Missouri and Sheronda Nelson of Jacksonville, Florida, four brothers, Bobby Ware, Randy Ware, and Paladin Ware of Charleston, Missouri, and James Ware of Mt. Vernon, Illinois, three sisters, Lela Ware and Della Ware both of Charleston, Missouri and Leigh Paige Applewhite of Sikeston, Missouri, a special friend, Harry Fisher of Charleston, Missouri, 11 grandchildren, 24 great grandchildren, nephews, nieces, cousins, other relatives and friends.
Friends may call Saturday, February 19, 2022 from 12:00 noon until the funeral hour of 1:00 P.M. at Mercy Seat Missionary Baptist Church with Reverend Tony Moton officiating. Interment will follow in Oak Grove Cemetery with the Williams Funeral Homes of Charleston in charge of arrangements.
