J D Wilson, Jr., affectionately known as Bill, died Friday, December 31, 2021 in his home in Bertrand, Missouri. He was born July 4, 1948 in Osceola, Arkansas to the late J D Wilson, Sr. and Veatrice Crider Wilson.
He attended Lincoln School in Charleston, Missouri.
J D loved working on the farm. It was his pride and joy. He worked at Finley Farms for over 40 years.
In his spare time, he enjoyed fishing, hunting, and planting in his garden. He could also be found working on vehicles and doing construction. He loved playing the lottery, especially his “4848” numbers.
In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by one son, John Brown, three brothers Anthony Wilson, Charles Ray Jennings, and Ricky Wilson, and four sisters, Margaret Ann Petty, Carolyn Wilson, Joyce Wilson, and Marilyn Wilson.
He leaves to cherish his precious memories one son, Daniel Murray of Charleston, Missouri, four daughters, Nolita Murray, Chandra Murray and Gwen Anderson of Charleston, Missouri, and Tonya Burnett of Saginaw, Michigan, seven brothers, Lorenzo Wilson, Petey Wilson, Favis Wilson, DeRandy Jennings, and Frederick Jennings, Sr. all of Charleston, Missouri, and Michael Wilson and David Wilson of Indianapolis, Indiana , six sisters, LaWanda Wilson of Charleston, Missouri, Carolyn Brown of Dayton, Ohio, and Jeanette Wilson, Christine Wilson, Vicky Wilson, and Geraldine Wilson all of Indianapolis, Indiana, 18 grandchildren, 30 great grandchildren, a special friend, Gloria Murray of the home for over 50 years, and a host of nephews, nieces, cousins, other relatives, and friends.
Friends may call Friday, January 7, 2022 from 11:00 A.M. until the funeral hour of 12:00 Noon at Mercy Seat Missionary Baptist Church with Reverend Darren Horrell officiating. Interment will follow in Oak Grove Cemetery with the Williams Funeral Homes of Charleston in charge of arrangements.
