On February 20, 2017 an angel by the name of Ja'Mariel La'Nique Tanksley was given to us. On March 12, 2018 our Heavenly Father welcomed his angel back into his arms.
Ja'Mariel was a happy energetic one year old who enjoyed eating , talking and taking pictures. But her greatest pleasure could be seen, by the glow in her eyes when she loved on her mother.
She leaves to cherish precious memories, her mother, Georgiante Purdiman of Cape Girardeau, Missouri, her father, Herschael Tanksley of Sikeston, Missouri, one brother, Jamarion Tanksley of Sikeston, Missouri, grandparents, Deborah (Ronald) Hill and Kevin (Vanessa) Purdiman of Carbondale, Illinois and Thelma Tanksley of Sikeston, Missouri, two great grandmothers, Deborah Johnson of Cairo, Illinois and Linda Purdiman of Benton Harbor, Michigan, one uncle, Kevin Purdiman, Jr. of Cairo, Illinois, seven aunts, Vanessa West of Sikeston, Missouri, Sharonica Bingham of Cape Girardeau, Missouri, LaKiesha Sawyer, Heather Houston, Qwatasia Sawyer and Janiah Sawyer of Mounds, Illinois and Tessica Barbary of Beaumont, Texas, nine great aunts, Natasha Amos of Sikeston, Missouri, Ashton Woodson and Yvonne Ford of Cairo, Illinois, Marissa Harris and Stephanie Butler of Benton Harbor, Michigan, Jessica Caradine and Anntionette Ford of St. Louis, Missouri, Lashawna Lawrence of Nashville, Tennessee and Leneca Baldwin of Murfreesboro, Tennessee, nine great uncles, Herschel Graham, Thomas Griffin, Rodney Woodson, Steve Tarver and Shawn Tarver of Cairo, Illinois, Serle Thomas of Carbondale, Illinois, Oylmpus Graham and Toronzo Graham of Marion, Illinois and Tyran Copeland of Elgin, Illinois, six surviving great great aunts, seven great great uncles, two special family friends, Tangler Edwards and Sharmaine Edwards of Cape Girardeau, Missouri, her godparents, Romello Orr of Cairo, Illinois and Shayla Brooker of Cape Girardeau, Missouri and an abundance of cousins, other relatives and friends.
Ja'Mariel is preceded in death by two great uncles, David Hill and Travis Graham, great grandfather, Ollie Spillers, three great great aunts, Willie Mae Walker, Ruby Brickham and Gloria Kyles, two great great uncles, Jessie Hill and Joe Hill and great great grandparents, Eugene and Sadie Purdiman, Opter T. Johnson and Ruthie Mae Hill.
Friends may call Saturday, March 24, 2018 from 11:00 A. M. until the funeral hour of 12:00 P. M. at First Missionary Baptist Church in Cairo, Illinois with the pastor Elder Jimmy Ellis officiating. Interment will follow in Spencer Heights Cemetery in Mounds, Illinois.
