James Anthony Oliver, 64, resident of Sikeston, Missouri died Thursday, July 18, 2019 at the Convalescent Center in Sikeston, Missouri. He was born February 3, 1955 in Sara, Mississippi to the late Sammy T. Oliver and Pamelia Eckles.
He was a member of St. John Missionary Baptist Church where he served as a deacon for many years. He was a truck driver for PTI for 25 years. He was later employed by Hunter Farms until he became ill. James served as the Past Master and a 32 degree of the King David Lodge#11 and was a member of Rose of SHARON Eastern Star.
He married Della Durden on June 15, 1997.
In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by one son, one step-son, one daughter, four brothers, two sisters, and one step-grandson.
He is survived by his wife, Della Oliver of Sikeston, Missouri, one daughter, Karen Thatch of Champagne, Illinois, two children whom he raised, Teresa Tuck of Brandon, Florida and Keith Tuck of North Las Vegas, Nevada, one step-son, James Durden of Lilbourn, Missouri, three brothers, Eddie Moore and Rickey (Donna) Moore of Sikeston, Missouri, and Desmond (Tawanna) Davis of Waco, Texas, one sister, Carrie Moore of Sikeston, Missouri and a host of grandchildren, great grandchildren, other relatives and friends.
Friends may call Friday, July 26, 2019 from 12:00 noon until the funeral hour of 1:00 pm at Green Memorial Church of God in Christ with Reverend Richard Lee officiating. Interment will immediately follow in the Portageville Cemetery in Portageville, Missouri with the Williams Funeral Home of Sikeston, Missouri in charge of arrangements.
