Jimmy Brown, 71, resident of Haywood City, Missouri, died Saturday, August 10, 2019 at the Missouri Delta Medical Center in Sikeston, Missouri. He was born March 11, 1943 to the late Henry and Daisy Campbell Brown in Philadelphia, Mississippi.
He confessed hope in Christ and was baptized at an early age at Greers Chapel Missionary Baptist Church. Although he did not attend church on a regular basis, he instilled his faith and belief in God to his son, Jim Jim, and insisted that he attend church weekly.
Jimmy was a farm laborer until he became self-employed in the recycling business. He executed his business with great pride until his health failed.
Jimmy loved hunting, fishing and junking. He would very willingly take his nephews with him to teach them the art of hunting various wildlife. To see them evolve in hunting brought him great pleasure. He also loved his children and drinking Coca-Cola. He will be greatly missed.
In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by two brothers, Samuel Brown and Henry Brown and four sisters, Helen Johnson, Enoria Woodson, Delleree Jamison and Sylvia Jamison.
He is survived by one son Jimmy Dee "Jim Jim" Brown of Haywood City, Missouri, three daughters, Glenda Hayward of Columbia, Missouri and Wanda Hayward and Mary Alice Hayward of Cape Girardeau, Missouri, one sister, Dorothy Brown of Haywood City, Missouri, four grandchildren and a host of nephews, nieces, other relatives and friends.
Friends may call Friday, August 16, 2019 from 11:00 A. M. until the funeral hour of 12:00 noon at Greers Chapel Missionary Baptist Church in Sikeston, Missouri with Minister Michael Brown officiating.
Interment will follow in Sunset of Memories Cemetery with Williams Funeral Home of Sikeston, Missouri in charge of arrangements.
