Joe Nathan Bankhead, Jr.

Joe N. Bankhead, Jr., 61, passed away on April 6, 2022, at his home. He was born January 3, 1961, in Wyatt, Missouri to the late Joe Nathan Bankhead, Sr. and Lillian Ann Sloan Bankhead. Joe graduated from Charleston High School in 1979 and furthered his education at the University of Missouri at Columbia (Mizzou) on a National Merit Scholarship. Joe enlisted in the United States Navy in May of 1986. After leaving the military, Joe returned to Southeast Missouri and was employed in the Communications Department at KBSI television station in Cape Girardeau, MO. After much success, he relocated back to Columbia, Missouri, then to St. Louis, Missouri, and settled in Houston, Texas. In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his brother-in-law, Eric Faucette, Sr. He is survived by his brother, Minister Michael Bankhead of Cape Girardeau, Missouri, four sisters, Jacquelyn Faucette of Pine Bluff, Arkansas, Glenda Obot of Houston, Texas, Maude (Michael) Harris of Sikeston, Missouri, and Mary (George) Bankhead-Jackson of Charleston, Missouri, nieces, nephews, relatives, and friends. Family and friends may call Friday, April 15, 2022, from 11:00 A.M. until the funeral hour of 12:00 noon at Open Door Fellowship Church 204 Jackson St. in Sikeston, Missouri with Pastor Michael K. Harris, Sr. officiating. Services also available via zoom 5734712500. Interment will follow at 3:00 P.M. at the Missouri State Veterans Cemetery, in Bloomfield, Missouri.
