John Edward Hart, Jr.

John Edward Hart, Jr., 79, affectionately known as "Moochie," resident of Charleston, Missouri, died October 31, 2019 at his home surrounded by his family.  He was born October 6, 1940 in Tiptonville, Tennessee to the late John Edward Hart, Sr. and the late Bessie Davy Hart.

John confessed his hope in Jesus Christ at an early age and was of the Baptist faith.

On June 16, 1968, he married the love of his life, Ruth Rowe, who was a devoted wife during their 51 years of marriage.

John provided well for his family.  He was a hard worker who enjoyed farming and just riding in the fields.  He was employed by Dale Glenn Farms until his retirement in 2014.  He worked hard to ensure that his family's needs would always be met.

He loved his family and was always there to support them however he was needed.  John enjoyed socializing and looked forward to the family gatherings.  He was outgoing, and would speak his mind.

John had many joys, which included fishing and hunting.  He was an avid outdoorsman.  John found pleasure in mowing, and he loved his truck.

In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his son, Anthony Hull, three brothers, Herman Dean, James "Sonny" Hart, and John Hart, one sister, Berneice West, and a granddaughter, Maddison Grace Hart.

John is survived by his wife, Ruth Hart of Charleston, Missouri, four sons, Timothy (Amanda) Hart of Sikeston, Missouri, Troy Hart of rural Charleston, Missouri, Bruce (Maggie) Hart of Killeen, Texas, and Duncan Hart of Michigan City, Indiana, four daughters, Shannan Gillespie of Charleston, Missouri, Patricia (Anthony) Hart of Michigan City, Indiana, Annette Crawford of Kansas City, Missouri, and Amanda Harris of St. Louis, Missouri, one brother, Robert Dean of Chicago, Illinois, two sisters, Ruby Townsend of Charleston, Missouri and Flora Hasslett of Chicago, Illinois, 15 grandchildren, 9 great grandchildren, nephews, nieces, other relatives and friends.

Friends may call Sunday, November 3, 2019 from 12:00 noon until the funeral hour of 1:00 P.M. at House of  Prayer World Outreach Center in Charleston, Missouri with Reverend Ronald Sloan officiating.

Interment will follow in the Oak Grove Cemetery near Charleston, Missouri with the Williams Funeral Home of Charleston, Missouri in charge of arrangements.
