Johnnie Milton Carlock, 66, resident of Sikeston, Missouri died March 25, 2020 at his home. He was born September 6, 1953 in Senatobia, Mississippi to the late Milton and Nellie Mae Carter Carlock, Jr.
He was a 1972 graduate of the Sikeston High School. After graduation, he entered the United States Navy where he served as a Fireman from 1972 to 1974. He received an honorable discharge.
Johnnie accepted Christ as his savior and was a member of Freewill Missionary Baptist Church in Sikeston, Missouri.
During his down time, you could find Johnnie watching soap operas, games shows or a sports’ game on his television. However, one of his true loves was the love for his family.
When Johnnie was on a phone call and would get tired of talking to you, he would say, “You’re breaking up……..you’re breaking up.” Then there goes that click. He was done talking, especially with his siblings. He will be greatly missed and long remembered.
In addition to his parents, he is also preceded in death by one sister, Dorothy Carlock.
Johnnie was the father of one child, a son, Marcus Blissett of Sikeston, Missouri. Other survivors include four brothers, Raymond (Gayle) Carlock of Graham, North Carolina, Lavern (Maxine) Carlock of Austin, Texas and Joe (Linda) Carlock and Maurice Carlock of Memphis, Tennessee, two sisters, Margaret (Pastor Victor) Williams and Alice Pope of Sikeston, Missouri, one grandson, Marcus Blissett, Jr. of Sikeston, Missouri, three uncles, Freddie Carter of St. Louis, Missouri, James Carter of Virginia Beach, Virginia and Raymond Carlock of Memphis, Tennessee, three aunts, Willie Mae (Raymond) Weaver and Bessie Jordan of St. Louis, Missouri and Ernestine Hamilton of Sikeston, Missouri, and a host of nephews, nieces, cousins, other relatives and friends. The Carlock Family would like to give a special thanks and appreciation to Mrs. Rita Savage.
A private service is scheduled for Wednesday, April 1, 2020 at the Williams Funeral Chapel in Charleston, Missouri at 10:00 am with interment following at 12:00 noon at the Missouri State Veteran Cemetery in Bloomfield, Missouri.
