Katie Ruth Lee

Mrs. Katie Ruth Lee, 80, resident of Sikeston, Missouri died November 26, 2019 at her home.  She was born February 15, 1939 in Vanduser, Missouri to the late William and Annie Jefferson Kellum.

Katie attended Buck Ridge School and later served as a Teacher for the Benton Head Start in Benton, Missouri.  She later obtained her Certified Nurse's Assistance License and was employed at Sikeston Convalescent Center in Sikeston, Missouri until her retirement.

On September  9, 1969 Katie was united in marriage to Neglasper Lee in Haywood City, Missouri.  He precedes her in death.

She was of the Baptist faith and attended New Morning Star Missionary Baptist Church in Haywood City, Missouri.

Mrs. Lee loved gardening and it was her passion.  She was a kept to herself and was uniquely different.  In fact, many would say that she was one in a million.   She was definitely stuck in her ways, however she loved her grandchildren dearly.  She will be missed.

She is survived by two daughters and one son-in-law, Kathy and Charles Johnson of Topeka, Kansas and Bridgett Lee of Sikeston, Missouri, six grandchildren, and nine great grandchildren and a host of other relatives and friends.

Friends may call Friday, December 6, 2019 from 11:00 A. M. until the funeral hour at 12:00 noon at New Morning Star Missionary Baptist Church in Haywood City, Missouri with the pastor, Reverend Alex Sims, officiating.

Interment  will follow in the New Morning Star Cemetery in Haywood City, Missouri with the Williams Funeral Home of Sikeston, Missouri in charge of arrangements.
