Kenya Kaye Stokes

Kenya Kaye Stokes, 44, resident of Memphis, Tennessee, formerly of Sikeston, Missouri, died Saturday, December 17, 2022 at Methodist University Hospital in Memphis, Tennessee.  She was born April 7, 1978 in Sikeston to Eddie Lambert and Ethel Stokes both of Sikeston.

She was of the Baptist faith and had her own personal relationship with God.

Kenya graduated from Sikeston High School in Sikeston, Missouri in 1998. After graduation, she relocated to Memphis, Tennessee. She got accepted into the University of Memphis, where she furthered her education for one year.

She was a homemaker who took pride in raising and loving her family. In her free time, she enjoyed listening to music.

Kenya and her grandmother, Sadie Lambert, had a special relationship. She spent her weekends helping her at the Sikeston Trade Winds and during that time they created an unbreakable bond.

She leaves to cherish her precious memories her sons, Isaiah Stokes stationed in Norfolk, Virginia, Gabriel Stokes stationed in Fort Hood, Texas, and Daniel Hancock of Memphis, Tennessee, her daughter, Ebonique (William Brookes) Stokes of Atlanta, Georgia, her father, Eddie Lambert of Sikeston, Missouri, her mother, Ethel Stokes of Sikeston, Missouri, her brothers, Rumon Lambert of Chicago, Illinois, Eddie Stokes of Memphis, Tennessee, Travis Stokes of Cape Girardeau, Missouri, and Darnell Stokes, Nathan Turner, Corlin Terrell Turner, Justin Turner, and Michael Turner all of Sikeston, Missouri, her sister, Leshonda Stokes of Memphis, Tennessee, her grandson, William Brookes, Jr. of Atlanta, Georgia, her special friend, Henry Hancock of Memphis, Tennessee, and a host of uncles, aunts, cousins, other relatives and friends.

Friends may call Thursday, December, 29, 2022 from 11:00  A.M. until the funeral hour of 12:00 noon at Grace Tabernacle in Sikeston, Missouri with Pastor Johnny Avance, Sr. officiating.
