Lee Arthur Treadwell was born to Dorothy Mae Treadwell and Leroy Johnson on October 4, 1959 in Charleston, Missouri. Minister Lee Arthur Treadwell departed this life on Wednesday, June 2, 2021 at the age of 61 years, seven months, and 29 days.
He is preceded in death by his step-father, Wardell Coleman, Sr. He graduated from Charleston High School and then later moved to Chicago, Illinois. There he met and married his first wife, Annie Ivy and to this union five children were born. Minister Lee Arthur was affectionately known as “Buddy”. He was a very hard working man where he was employed by Appleton Electric Company as a fork lift operator for several years. He also worked at different department stores as a security guard in the Chicago area. Later in his life he decided to raise his children closer to home and moved to Cape Girardeau, Missouri in 1994. He was employed at Lee Rowan/ Rubbermaid for twenty-six years until his retirement.
Minister Lee Arthur Treadwell met and married on September 23, 2012, the love of his life, Annette Davis. The two built a beautiful life together enjoying vacations, family functions and most of all worshipping God together. He was able to receive his minister’s license, a lifelong goal, with the support of his wife, and church family. He was a faithful man of God who loved God with his heart, soul, and mind. He was a member of Faith Temple Church of God in Christ, in Wyatt, Missouri under the leadership of Pastor Limmie D. Pulliam of Kennett, Missouri. He served in many capacities at the local church; President of the Men’s Auxiliary, Junior High Sunday School teacher, YPWW teacher choir member and the Usher Board. He served in the Unity District and the North Dakota Jurisdiction in the following departments and auxiliaries; Evangelism, Missions, Choir, Street Ministry, and Ushers’ Board. He served as a minister for the SNAP team in the Cape Girardeau, Missouri area.
He leaves to cherish his memories, a loving wife, Annette Treadwell of the home; his beautiful mother, Dorothy Coleman of Charleston, MO; his father, Leroy (Byrd) Johnson of Maywood, IL; three sons, Arthur Ivy, Gerald Ivy, and Dont`e Ivy of Cape Girardeau, MO; two daughters, Tynesha Ivy of Macomb, IA and Nakema (Caleb) Lane of Sikeston, MO; four step-daughters, Cynthia (Sylvester) Ayers, Nakasha (Maurice) Harper, and Victoria Fisher of Cape Girardeau, MO, Latwaine Fisher of Sikeston, MO; one brother, Wardell Coleman Jr. of Cape Girardeau, MO; ten sisters, Teresa (Donald) Black, Melissa (Tyrone) Taylor of Cape Girardeau, MO, Denurah(Timothy) Scott of Roseville, MI, Judy Lyons of Bloomington, IL, Diane (Andre) Burby of Deridder, LA, Ramona Johnson and Kimberly Johnson of Maywood, IL, Angela (Derrick) McNeal of Plainfield, IL, Patricia (Allen) Chandler of West Chester, IL, Terry Mays of East St. Louis, IL; three god-daughters, Veronica Hamilton of Cape Girardeau, MO, Starla (Darna) Hudson of St. Louis, MO, and Tita Mathies of Malden, MO, two aunts, Vernice Ivy and Juanita Jefferson of Charleston, MO, a special god-mother, Flora Eanes of Cape Girardeau, MO; 23 grand-children, five great-grand- children, and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends.
Funeral services will be held Friday, June 11, 2021at 1:00 P.M. at Faith Temple Church of God in Christ in Wyatt, Missouri with Superintendent Steve Betts officiating. Interment will follow in Oak Grove Cemetery with the Williams Funeral Homes in charge of arrangements.
