Lillian "Shonda" Leshon Scott

Lillian Leshon Scott, affectionately known as Shonda, died Sunday, July 31, 2022, while at Missouri Delta Medical Center in Sikeston, Missouri surrounded by her loving family. She was born November 16, 1977 in Charleston, Missouri, to Barbara Sharp Jones of LaCenter, Kentucky and Alvin Scott of Charleston, Missouri.

Shonda spent her early years attending school in Charleston, Missouri.  She would eventually move to Atlanta, Georgia to further her education.

Shonda enjoyed a special relationship with her mother and her mother's husband, David Jones.  He raised her as his own, and her and her mother did construction projects together.  They took welding classes and one of their most memorable activities was helping build sidewalks for the Olympics in Atlanta, Georgia.

She was a baptized believer and a member of House of Hope Ministry in Paducah, Kentucky.  She enjoyed dressing up and attending church.  She had fond memories of fun and fellowship.

Shonda had a heart of gold.  She was always rescuing others and working with the homeless.  Shonda loved her family, especially her children.  She will be missed.

She was preceded in death by her grandparents, Alfred and Ruby Sharp, and her brother-in-law, Steven Wheeler.

She leaves to cherish her precious memories, one son, Zashon Strayhorn of Charleston, Missouri, one daughter, Zashariea Strayhorn of Charleston, Missouri, two brothers, Jason (Youlanda) Sharp and Kamunde Scott of Charleston, Missouri, one sister, Angela Wheeler of Bertrand, Missouri, several paternal siblings, her favorite aunt, Anita Faye (Artie) Kirkwood of Bertrand, Missouri, an uncle, Alfred (Betty) Sharp of Sikeston, Missouri, her favorite cousin she grew up with, Travis Sharp of Bertrand, Missouri, a Goddaughter, Javonna “Tweet” Kimble of Charleston, Missouri, nephews, nieces, other relatives and friends.

A memorial celebration will be held Saturday, August 6, 2022 at 3:00 P.M. at the Williams Funeral Chapel in Charleston, Missouri with Pastor Michael Pryor officiating.
