Lloyd Wade, Jr.

October 10, 1928 — November 4, 2020

Lloyd Wade Jr., 92, resident of Charleston, Missouri died Wednesday, November 4, 2020 at his home in Charleston, Missouri.  He was born October 10, 1928 in New Madrid, Missouri to the late Lloyd Wade, Sr. and Lorine V. Carter.

Lloyd was a man of God who served as a Deacon at St. Matthews Full Gospel Missionary Baptist Church for over 50 years. He was ordained as an Elder in 2013.  His favorite song was "My Soul Loves Jesus."

On July 16, 1949, Lloyd married Arlee Anderson, and they enjoyed 66 years together. She preceded him in death on May 9, 2016.

He was a family man, and he worked hard as a farmer to provide for them.  Lloyd loved spending time with his children and grandchildren.  To relax, he would tend to his garden or watch television.

Lloyd will long be remembered for greeting those he loved with a warm smile and a gentle touch.

In addition to his wife, he is preceded in death by one son, Joe Anderson, and two sisters, Gloria Wade and Alice Wade.

Lloyd is survived by seven sons, Walter Brewer, Arnold Brewer, Sechrone Wade, and Floyd Wade all of Charleston, Missouri, Leonard Brewer of Cleveland, Ohio, Sevand Brewer and Lloyd Wade III of Columbia, Missouri, seven daughters, Gloria Cornley of Bertrand, Missouri, Brenda Rodgers, Francine Triplett, Gwendolyn Wade, and Rochelle Fitzgerald of Charleston, Missouri, Glenda Clay of Ballwin, Missouri, and Regina Johnson of St. Louis, Missouri, one sister, Mary Foster of New Madrid, Missouri, 49 grandchildren, 100 great grandchildren, 20 great great grandchildren, nephews, nieces, other relatives and friends.

A walk-through visitation will be held Sunday, November 15, 2020 from 12:00 noon until the family-only hour of 2:00 pm at the Bowden Civic Center in Charleston, Missouri with Pastor Floyd Wade officiating. The family is asking everyone to wear masks. Interment will follow in Oak Grove Cemetery in Charleston, Missouri with the Williams Funeral Home of Charleston in charge of arrangements.
