Margaret Greer was born June 14, 1942 in Little Rock, Arkansas to Vonna and Josephine Harris Hunter. A mother of seven, five boys and two girls, Margaret had a heart full of love to give. Aside from her parents, she is preceded in death by her brother, James Hunter, her sisters, Essie Bea Payne, Pauline Hall, Wilma Jean Johnson, and Juline Yancy, and her brother-in-law, Bobby Yancy.
Margaret was a member of First Baptist Church of Catron in Catron, Missouri. She was the president of the choir. Singing made her heart smile. She truly loved attending church and all things praising the Lord.
She married the love of her life, Lester Greer. They spent many years of love and happiness until his passing in 2010.
Margaret was a business minded woman. She worked hard for everything she had and was involved in. With an eighth-grade education, Margaret bought and paid for two houses due to her work ethic. She worked at Brown Shoe Company in Parma, Missouri and in 2014, she retired from Tyson Foods in Dexter, Missouri.
Since her retirement, she found joy in the simple things in life. She enjoyed puzzle books and watching T.V.
Margaret earned her eternal rest on Monday, January 22, 2024 while at the Sikeston Convalescent Center in Sikeston, Missouri at the age of 81 years, seven months, and eight days.
She leaves to cherish her loving memories her sons, Richard Williams of Lilbourn, Missouri, Charles (Lori Mead) Hunter of Parma, Missouri, Roy T. Hunter of St. Louis, Missouri, Clifford Hunter of Fort Washington, Maryland, and Robert Hunter of Kansas City, Missouri, her daughters, Dorothy (Tyrone) Perkins of Lilbourn, Missouri and Norma Hunter of Catron, Missouri, 16 grandchildren, 14 great-grandchildren, three great-great grandchildren, and a host of nephews, nieces, cousins, other relatives, and friends.
Friends may call Friday, February 2, 2024 at 11:00 A.M. until the funeral hour of 12:00 noon at First Baptist Church of Catron in Catron, Missouri with Reverend Richard Houston officiating. Interment will immediately follow in Simmons Park Cemetery in Catron with the Williams Funeral Homes in charge of arrangements.
