Mary Lee Dunigan

Mary Lee Dunigan, 87, resident of East Prairie, Missouri, died September 7, 2020 at the Missouri Delta Medical Center in Sikeston, Missouri.  She was born October 31, 1932 in Charleston, Missouri to the late Willie Pratt and Beatrice Robinson Pratt.

She was employed by Burkhart Manufacturing in Cairo, Illinois for over 15 years.  Mary then became a Certified Nurse’s Assistant and later a Certified Medical Technician and was employed at the Charleston Manor Skilled Nursing Facility in Charleston, Missouri.  She retired from Visiting Nurse Association in 2010 where she worked as an in-home health provider.

Mary was united in marriage to Leo Dunigan in 1957.  He preceded her in death in 1969.

Mary loved going to church, fellowshipping and was a member of Union Baptist Church in Pinhook, Missouri.

She was a great person who would help anybody.  She loved fishing and eating it. Mary had a deep affection for animals and loved cockatiel birds, her cats,  dogs and scratch off tickets.

In addition to her parents and husband, Mary is preceded in death by her only son, Bobby Roy Pratt, one brother, Clyde Pratt and one sister, Betty Dunigan.

She is survived by one loving brother, Orlando Pratt of East Chicago, Indiana, a nephew, Lester "Calvin" Dunigan, who was her main caregiver, of East Prairie, Missouri, eight grandchildren and a host of great grandchildren, nephews, nieces, other relatives and friends.

Friends may call Saturday, September  19, 2020 at 12:00 noon until the funeral hour of 1:00 P.M. at the Williams Funeral Chapel in Charleston, Missouri where Reverend Dr. J. L. Posey will officiate.

The Williams Funeral Home of Charleston, Missouri is in charge of arrangements.
