Mary Katherine Jamison

July 12, 1947 — November 15, 2020

Mrs. Mary Katherine Jamison, 73, was born on July 12, 1947 in Dyersburg, Tennessee to the late O.T. Davis and Merry Helen Macon Davis Hall. She is the 2nd eldest of seven children, (one boy and six girls).  In May 1948, she moved to Charleston, Missouri to live with her maternal aunt, Mrs. Daisy Hines and Mr. Buster Hines who raised her as a daughter.

Mary confessed hope in Christ at the tender age of ten and was baptized by Reverend L.H. Huff uniting with the Mt. Ollie M.B. Church of the Big Lake area.  On June 11, 1961, she moved her membership to Saint Matthew M.B. Church, where she served as the Sunday School secretary, under the pastoral leadership of Rev. C.J. Jefferson in the Fish Lake area. On July 11, 1988, she united with Perry Chapel AME, under the pastoral leadership of Rev. G.W. Grider. She also served as the Sunday School secretary, Asst. Sunday School superintendent, secretary of the Charity Baker Missionary Society and as a choir member of both choirs.

She attended Big Lake School, Lincoln School, and in 1967 she graduated from Charleston High School in Charleston, MO. She was a dedicated employee for the following companies:  Pike Farms, Blair Farms, D.A.E.O.C. Head Start for ten years, Susanna Wesley, Russell Cafe, Bertrand Nursing Home & Charleston Manor nursing home.

She was united in holy matrimony to John Jamison, Jr. on Sunday, June 5, 1994.

Mary enjoyed traveling, caring for her animals (Grey-Grey, Lovye, and Yummye), spending time with her loved ones, and being a blessing to others.  She worked with many charities and always enjoyed spreading love through random gifts to everyone because she loved to see the smiles on their faces. Some of her favorite pastimes were traveling, cooking, shopping, and laughing during goofy moments with her only daughter/best friend Meri.

Mary was preceded in death by both parents and three sisters, Brodie M. Macon, Sandra K. Davis, and Diana J. Davis.

She leaves to cherish her memory her daughter Meri L. Hines of Charleston, West Virginia, a nephew/son Daryl (Kay) Macon of Indianapolis, Indiana, two sisters Betty J. McClain and Tracie L. Davis of Toledo, Ohio, one brother, Walter M. Davis of Toledo, Ohio, a cousin/brother, John Joseph Hines of Charleston, Missouri, her cousin Clarence Young Sr. of Toledo, Ohio, her cousin Alvin Taylor of Indianapolis, Indiana, a best friend, Annie Mae Reed of Charleston, Missouri, two step sisters, Patricia Jackson-Robinson of South Haven, Mississippi, and Charvette Calvin of Sikeston, Missouri, a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other family members, friends, and loved ones.

Friends may call  Tuesday, November 24, 2020 from11:00 A.M. until the funeral hour of 1:00 P.M. at the Williams Funeral Chapel in Charleston, Missouri with Pastor Carolyn Kent officiating.  Interment will follow in Oak Grove Cemetery.
