Mary Lewis-Long

Mary Lewis-Long, 72, died Monday, October 31, 2022 at her home in Marston, Missouri. She was born March 12, 1950 to the late James Lewis Sr. and Florence Moore Lewis in West Memphis, Arkansas. She was one in a family of seven siblings, one was her twin sister.

Mary was raised by her late Aunt Fannie who moved the family from Arkansas to Missouri. She graduated from Howardville High School in Howardville, Missouri in 1968.

She married Ezzard Long July 17, 1969 and moved to East St. Louis, Illinois. To this union, two sons were born and she gained a step daughter.

Mary confessed faith in Christ and joined Greater Faith Church in East St, Louis, Illinois where she remained a faithful member for 15 years until her health began to decline. She was employed for many years at Regions Bank.

Mary and Ezzard adopted their granddaughter, Antonnett, at the age of two.

She was preceded in death by her parents, her aunt, eight brothers, and three sisters.

She leaves to cherish her memories, her husband, Ezzard Long, Sr. of Marston, Missouri, two sons, Kelvin  (Briannetta) Long of Sikeston, Missouri and  Ezzard (Shantella) Long, Jr. of Waterloo, Iowa, two daughters, Antonnett Long of St. Louis, Missouri and Elaine (Andrew) Thomas of Fayetteville, Arkansas, her sister, Florence Isom of Malden, Missouri, ten grandchildren, seventeen great-grandchildren, five sisters-in-law, eight brothers-in-law and a complete family of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.

Friends may call Saturday, November 5, 2022 at 10:00 A.M. until the funeral hour of 11:00 A.M. at Good Hope Missionary Baptist Church in Marston, Missouri with Pastor Allysia Long officiating and Reverend James Long eulogizing. Interment will immediately follow services in Mason Cemetery in Point Pleasant, Missouri with the Williams Funeral Home of Howardville in charge of arrangements.
