Beloved Mother, Grandmother, Sister, and Aunt, Nancy Lee Martin, 82 was born May 4, 1942 in Mississippi County, Missouri to the union of Richard and Meoley (Cassell) Williams.

Nancy grew up in Charleston, Missouri and accepted Christ at an early age. During her emerging adulthood she moved to Chicago, Illinois and completed her secondary education at the Cosmopolitan Prep School. She continued her enthusiasm to expand her knowledge, by completing college courses in education at the City of Colleges of Chicago.

On November 23, 1974, Nancy was united in holy matrimony to Alfred Martin in Chicago, Illinois where they began their precious 45-year life journey together bowling, dancing, and traveling with friends and family. In 1993, Nancy and Alfred relocated to Scottsdale, Arizona where they became devoted members of the Dream City Church, serving as Ushers within the ministry. In Scottsdale, Nancy began her career as a Special Education Teaching Assistant within the unified school district and later retired after 15 years of service.

Nancy departed this earthly life peacefully on May 15, 2024 at home in Charleston, Missouri. She was preceded in death by her loving husband Alfred Martin, parents Richard and Meoley Williams, and six siblings, Arlee Wade (Lloyd), George Anderson (Salitha), Zeoley Williams, Fidella Curry, Artinner Parker (John), and Marie Ella Williams.

She leaves to cherish her memory, her son Frentress James Williams Sr. (Sandra) of Charleston, Missouri; five grandchildren Frentress Williams “Jr.” (Anita) of Poplar Bluff, Missouri, Antonio L. Eason and Asia “Stuffy” Hearn (Lewis Jr) of Kansas City, Missouri, Terrika L. Williams of Sikeston, Missouri, and Kenythia R. Williams of Denham Springs, Louisiana; two siblings Delores Williams Miller and OraLee Williams (Bartholomew Foster) of Chicago, Illinois; twelve great grandchildren, six great-great grandchildren and a host of nieces, nephews, relatives, and friends.

She will be dearly missed by her family, friends, and all who knew her.

Friends may call Saturday, June 1, 2024 from 12:00 noon until the funeral hour of 1:00 P.M. at the United Methodist Church in Charleston, Missouri with Pastor Floyd Wade of St. Matthews Full Gospel Missionary Baptist Church officiating. Interment will immediately follow in Oak Grove Cemetery in Charleston with the Williams Funeral Home in charge of arrangements.
